Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe is the daughter of an ethnically diverse family in South London in England. She has a mother who is English while her father is Nigerian. She was raised on the South London Council Estate and went to The Brit School aged 14. She earned her BA in acting at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She was on stage in numerous productions during her time at school such as the role of King Henry V, as Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights, as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe began her acting career with a film titled Storm Damage. In the years since, she's had guest appearances in films like Teachers, Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's film debut was in Woody Allen's Cassandra's Dream (2007), with Colin Farrell. Her success led her to play Elisha as a one-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot, then appear in six episodes Trexx and Flipside playing the character of Ollie. In the ITV2 drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl saw her in 2008 as Bambi. Madekwe also played the main character on How to lose friends & alienate people and be apathetic, which premiered on Sony Pictures Entertainment in 2008. Theatre credits for Madekwe include Little Sweet Thing and Flight Path.
Madekwe made her US debut in the 2009 Drama series The Beautiful Life, which just aired two episodes on The CW before being cancelled. In February of 2011 she was cast in the role of Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. Madekwe was a regular on the drama series on ABC Revenge during two seasons. It was revealed in May 2013 that she'd be leaving the series following a guest episode in the very first series of the 3rd. Madekwe starred as Tituba on the show Salem between 2014 and 2016. Madekwe was married to her long-time love, Iddo. The two have collaborated in the show Secret Diary of a Call Girl, and he was also on the show with Madekwe on the TV show Salem.
Ashley Leggat was born in Hamilton, Ontario, into the extended family of a huge, large. Four of her older brothers were also present: twins Todd & Bram, Brett & Rob. Ashley's athletic brothers were avid baseball players during the summer months and hockey in the winter. Ashley was not a walker, but she danced. In the age of two and half she discovered Baby Ballet. Ashley fell in love with dancing at the age of. Ashley continued to perform competitively until her high-school graduation at the top levels of competitions, such as ballet, tap, Jazz Pointe, Acrobatics, Pointe Musical Theatre, Lyrical, Hip Hop and many more. Ashley won the best soloist prize at each major dance contest, which included International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, to name just the few.
